Adrian Parkes, who has owned the pub for two and a half years, michael kors canada, said it was lucky no one else had been injured after the vehicle soared 4ft in the air, crashed through the children’s play area and the stock room, and became lodged in the kitchen wall. He said: “It was very frightening for everyone. Luckily no children were playing in the kids area. “I received a call from my manager saying a car had driven straight into the pub, I could tell from his voice he was seriously concerned.” All three emergency services were called to the scene at 12.40pm today and the man had to be cut out of the vehicle by firefighters. Jade Fuller,Michael Kors Outlet, 25, barmaid at The Fox and Hounds, said she had just finished serving two customers when she heard a “massive” bang. She added: “I heard a glass smash then there was a massive bang and dust everywhere, I just told everyone to get out. It was such a shock, it took me ages to calm down, I felt very shaken up.”The East of England Ambulance Service hazardous area response team (HART), a paramedic ambulance from Letchworth and the Herts Air Ambulance, who landed in Barley Primary School field, were called to the incident.EEAST spokesman Gary Sanderson, who attended the scene said: “On arrival, a man was rapidly extricated from the car embedded in the pub by HART operatives and fire fighters, he suffered serious injuries.“Following extensive treatment, stabilisation and immobilisation by HART, land and air ambulance crews, he was taken to Addenbrookes Hospital by land for further care.”Five crews from Royston, Hitchin and St Albans Fire Service were called to the scene and had to use cutting equipment to get the driver out of the car. A spokesman for Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “One vehicle left the road and went into a building. We had to use cutting equipment as the driver was trapped. “Stablilising equipment has been used to keep the building safe.”Pub landlord, Mr Parkes, said he hoped to have The Fox and Hounds open again in a couple of days. He added: “The electricity and gas had to be turned off today but we are hoping to be open again in a couple of days once the structural engineers have been in. Maybe we will even open for a drink tonight as I’m sure the locals will want to hear the gossip. “I am just so glad no customers were sitting where the car went through.”
