COUNTRY BOY Singer/songwriter, DJ and broadcaster Marc Roberts.Crossmolina country singer Marc Roberts releases new tunesHenry McGladeMarc Roberts is set to release his fifth studio album, ‘Now & Then’, which sees the Crossmolina singer return to his first love, American country music. The album includes covers from Rascal Flatts, Keith Urban,Michael Kors Outlet, Restless Heart and Clint Black, as well as two new originals. One of the tracks, a duet Marc has recorded with Mary Duff entitled ‘All I ever need is you’, is already getting a lot of airplay. The song will also be available on Mary’s forthcoming album.All in all, Marc’s new album ‘Now & Then’ boasts eleven new recordings and seven earlier recordings, including four John Denver songs. It will be available from record shops and to download from iTunes. Signed copies will also be available from his website. Marc, a DJ and broadcaster as well as a singer/song-writer, grew up listening to American country classics and British and Irish pop in his native Crossmolina. Born Seán Hegarty, he was heavily influenced by John Denver,Michael Kors Handbags, Dan Fogelberg, Carole King and James Taylor. He got his big break when he represented Ireland in the 1997 Eurovision Song Contest with ‘Mysterious Woman’, finishing a very credible second behind Katrina and The Waves. Since the late 1990s Marc has released four studio albums and made songwriting trips to Nashville. He has also collaborated with Jimmy MacCarthy, Mick Hanly and Charlie McGettigan. He currently presents a popular radio show on Galway Bay FM. This year, he also recorded series two of Opry an Iúir, the country music performance series he presents on TG4. One of Marc’s most successful collaborations Marc has had in recent years has been with Daniel O’Donnell. “Daniel has been great to me and always mentions me during his shows,michael kors canada,” Roberts says. “We’ve probably about an album and a half written together at this stage and that’s on sale worldwide. He is currently performing a series of concerts, entitled ‘A Tribute to the music of John Denver’. The shows have sold out in theatres all over Ireland.
