LE MANS: Dempsey/Del Piero Targeting European Expansion
While Dempsey/Del Piero Racing makes its debut in the 90th anniversary 24 Hours of Le Mans, it could be only the first of a series of European and international events for the American squad, if Pat motorcycle helmet sale rick Dempsey’s goal is realized. Speaking to SPEED.com,adjustable clutch lever, co-principal Joe Foster confirmed the team’s desire of expanding its presence overseas for n brake clutch levers ext year, building upon the foundation of Dempsey/Del Piero’s first outing at Le Mans in a Proton Competition-prepared Porsche 911 GT3 RSR this year. "At this point, as everybody is in the U.S., we're all trying to read the tea leaves on what is the best program for next year,” Foster told SPEED.com “Patrick [Dempsey] really enjoys driving and racing in Europe but we can't travel here all the time. “We would very much like to support t cheap motorcycle jackets he United SportsCar Racing series if we can find a business model that will work and we'd like to also do an European program that would get him some of the big events here too. If we could find the sponsorship to do all of it, we would do that.”The popular Hollywood actor custom helmets /racer got his first taste of Le Mans in 2009, finishing 9th at the wheel of an AF Corse Ferrari with Foster and Don Kitch Jr. While having intended to return with a Mazda-backed LMP2 program this year, a series of events has led Dempsey to join forces with Italian soccer star Alessandro Del Piero for a two-car GTC effort in the American Le Mans Series and GTE-Am program at Le Mans, both with Porsche. It’s with that partnership, clutch and brake levers which formed Dempsey/Del Piero Racing, is what could be used as a springboard towards an increased involvement globally."We would certainly like to race more in Europe,” Dempsey said. “We have a very strong image here in Europe and certainly in Italy. That's part of the attraction [for] the partnership [with Alessandro]. We're very both like-minded in what we like doing... We'll continue to build the program. “Hopefully it helps the both of us and gives us a nice, adjustable motorcycle levers, solid foundation with a team that would allow us to race here in Europe and also in the States. We're really [focused] on finding th cheap motorcycle helmets at relationship and developing the team this year. Sometimes we have some growing pains, sometimes we don't. We'll see where we end up."Foster has already been exploring possible options in Europe. In April, he took part in the Blancpain Endurance Series season-opener at Monza in a Porsche 997 GT3-R as a toe-in-the-water experience with the popular GT3 European championship."I think for Patrick it's become [a priority],” Foster said of racing in Europe. “That was part of the reason why I snuck over to do a Blancpain race was to experience that a little bit and report back. That was a really fun event. It's 63 GT3 cars. Car count wise, it's fun. The environment is fun and the European tracks are fun and the fans get it.”The FIA World Endurance Championship remains another possibility, although escalating costs, due to a likely increased schedule for 2014, could put a dam Seat Covers per on those dreams unless additional sponsorship is found to do both the WEC and USCR."We're very excited about the WEC and the expanded schedule it will have next year, adjustable Lever,” Foster said. “The challenge is two-fold: It's logistics for Patrick, with the longer events to travel and also the costs of WEC have skyrocketed based on logistics. You have to find a certain kind of partner that will pay for that because we can't afford it. “We're fishing in all of those ponds right now to find sponsorship then we'll see where the best thing w motorcycle stands ould make sense. Within the next month or two, we have to have a pretty clear path."Foster said any potential European or international program would likely be as a joint effort with a locally based team, as in the case with Proton for this year’s Le Mans attack. Additionally, he wouldn’t rule out a return to LMP2, but current options are limited based on Dempsey’s insurance policy prohibiting him to race an open-top car.
