It was apparent he didn’t live there, just because he was never there,” the network quotes neighbour Lisa Clark as saying.In October 2007, Harb sold 99.99 per cent of the ownership of the Cobden home to Magdalene Teo, then the Brunei high commissioner to Canada, according to the report.Harb maintained a 0.01 per cent of the stake in the property but still claimed it as his primary residence, the report said. He’s one of three senators being investigated by the RCMP.Harb is already repaying $51,000 in living expenses a Senate committee found he claimed inappropriately, though he is challenging the finding, and not admitting liability.The Senate committee on internal economy, budgets and administration had originally ordered Harb to repay $51,482 in expenses associated with his secondary residence in Ottawa after determining he did not spend enough time at his declared primary residence, to be eligible for the living allowance available to senators who live more than 100 kilometres away from Parliament Hill.The committee later raised the amount to $231,649, which includes accommodation and mileage dating back to 2005, which is as far back as the records kept by the Senate administration go.Efforts to reach Harb and the RCMP for comment were unsuccessful Thursday evening.
