But, it could have been a disaster. "When I first met him I actually thought he was out of my league," Talitha says. So she ended up chatting to another man "with a red mowhawk." Glen assumed she was interested in the other man, so he sat back and "just played it cool."  That was until Talitha had a few too many drinks, lost her wallet and Glen ended up scuffling with a friend of the mowhawk man in the middle of the road."Long story short the police arrived and asked Talitha who she was there with," Glen explains. "Somehow she pointed to me and they gave us a ride home in the back of a paddy wagon and the rest is history." The proposal After 6 years together, the time was ripe to propose. Glen took Talitha away to the Hunter Valley for the weekend and decided he would propose during a sunrise hot air ballooning trip. But, wanting his timing to be perfect, cheap ugg, he wasn't sure whether to wait or ask in front of the group they were with. As he weighed up his options, "my heart was beating at about one million beats a minute ... [seemingly loud when] it was so quiet up in the balloon with only the heat and noise from the burners overhead."Finally, just before the end of the ride, he made his move. "I lent over to Tal, put my arms around her ... and whispered in her ear ... 'How do you feel about spending the rest of your life with me?'" Talitha didn't respond at first, "at which point I considered throwing her over the side of the balloon," he jokes. "But, soon she did, very happily." Advertisement The wedding "The highlight of my day was walking down the aisle to marry my best friend," Talitha says. "And then dancing the night away with all our friends and family."Their 72 guests celebrated in a vintage-themed room of red, white and cream that was adorned with a mix of red roses and gerberas with green berries.Glen says having their friends and family come from all around Australia made them "feel very loved and special." But, his big moment was "seeing Talitha walk down the aisle in her dress, with a big bow on the side. It was like I was receiving this unbelievable present  - [I was] so happy." The happy couple "cannot wait to start a family together and spend the rest of our lives together," Talitha says. "I love how caring and funny he is ... to be with him now is a dream come true." The dressA mermaid-style satin dress with a large burgandy lace side bow. I found a dress in Leichhardt that I loved and had it made by a dressmaker in Sylania, with a slight change. The cakeA two-tier mudcake, by Kareela Bakery. It had a cascade of sugar roses down the side and each tier was finished with red ribbon. The honeymoonThey went for a mini week honeymoon to Fiji, ugg outlet, then going to Alaska for a month in September The photographPhotographs were by Gemma Clarke Photography
