Photo: Getty Images The NRL faces a scenario where it hardly matters who loses; they still win. Whichever way they look from here on in, they will be blessed with promotional dreams on both the penultimate weekend and then the final one. With four teams remaining, the prospects are mouth-watering whichever combination comes up. Souths against Sydney Roosters. Souths against anybody, really. Manly against Newcastle. Sydney Roosters against Manly would give the game a repeat of arguably the contest of the season so far, the 4-0 result in the Roosters' favour on the opening weekend of the finals. In a season dogged by the ASADA investigation into supplements in the sport,Michael Kors Outlet, but also poor attendances - largely as a result of the poor performances of western Sydney powerhouses Wests Tigers and Parramatta - a crowd of 50,000 is anticipated for Friday night's first preliminary final between South Sydney and Manly at ANZ Stadium. "We're playing good footy at the right time of the year": Knights coach Wayne Bennett. Photo: Simone De Peak Meanwhile it is also hoped that Allianz Stadium will be sold out a night later when the Roosters take on Newcastle. In fact, michael kors canada, if the sold-out sign is not placed outside the ground on Saturday night, the NRL would be given its most visible signal that the code does have a serious problem when it comes to its crowds - with the Roosters the minor premiers and the Knights attracting bus-loads of supporters down the F3 for the occasion. Advertisement The competition will have its first all-NSW preliminary finals since 1997. That might not be well-received by many supporters in Queensland, especially those taken in by claims of a Sydney conspiracy, yet it will give - dare we say it without being considered part of the conspiracy - NSW supporters something to cling to. The preliminary finals match-ups have plenty of sub-plots. The last time Manly played South Sydney, Jeff Lima twisted Anthony Watmough's leg and already the suggestions are emerging that the Sea Eagles remember that night well. Their coach Geoff Toovey certainly will; he was fined $10,000 for demanding an investigation into the officiating. ''Any game, there's always a bit of feeling, and I'm sure there's going to be a bit of feeling in this one,'' Rabbitohs five-eighth John Sutton said of the match-up at ANZ Stadium. Newcastle gives us not only the bus-loads of fanatical fans. It also gives us Wayne Bennett - the most successful NRL coach and the competition's most experienced - against a rookie one in the Roosters' Trent Robinson. The Knights' run from seventh place to the final four, via wins over last year's grand finalists, Canterbury and Melbourne, has been stirring. On Sunday, Bennett was channelling the wisdom of Chelsea football manager Jose Mourinho when analysing his side's journey. ''He [Mourinho] was saying he would like to start good, but if you don't start good he'd rather start slow and finish good,'' Bennett told ABC Radio. ''That's my sentiments as well. Our last 11 weeks plus our two playoff games now have been our best football all season. We're playing good footy at the right time of the year.'' They will face the Roosters, who are many people's pick for the premiership. Souths remain the fairytale for many. The old saying that rugby league is strong when Souths are strong simply does not work any more; the competition has grown while the Rabbitohs have struggled. But a grand final featuring the club would give the code a lift.
