Toro has won approval from environmental reg #file_links[D:\keywords12.txt,1,S] ulators to incorporate two uranium deposits - known as Lake Way and Centipede - into its plans for the nation's next uranium mine. But in recent weeks Toro has published market disclosures that suggest other deposits could also form part of the Wiluna mine, including the Lake Maitland deposit that it has recently agreed to acquire from Toronto listed company Mega Uranium. In a market release on October 4, Toro said Lake Maitland "adds significantly to the Wiluna Project and provides operational and financing benefits that strengthen the investment case for the mine". Advertisement Anti-nuclear campaigner Mia Pepper has expressed concerns that Toro has no approvals for the new deposit, and was trying to have the best of both worlds. “If Toro were to incorporate additional deposits the proposal would be drastically different. A 100km network of small shallow uranium mines and waste dumps through two lake systems are very different to a single mine. The cumulative impact of these operations must be assessed," she said. Toro shareholders will meet in Perth for their annual general meeting on Friday, and one of the issues to be voted on is the acquisition of Lake Maitland.
