Melandri Nips Guintoli in Portimao Race 1,Borse Gucci
Photography by Gold & GooseMarco Melandri scored his second victory of the season in World Superbike race one in Portimao, Portugal. The decission was taken by way of hair over Sylvain Guintoli from the fourth closest finish in series history. Pole winner Tom Sykes was third, battling to the lead prior to the final very few laps.Series contender Eugene Laverty took popular with the points when his Aprilia expired; and the second for Guintoli doubled his points bring success Sykes from four to eight. After a race Melandri revealed none of the anger that gave the impression to propel him to your front when the aggressive ignore Sykes.“When Tom passed me I discontinued (the track),Borse Gucci,Gucci Outlet,” said Melandri, who gave BMW its first WSBK win at Portimao. “When he took the queue I still wasn’t decided we just didn't see him. Lake arrived I was with very little plan,Gucci Borse, accomplish my best lap by lap, corner by corner to try to get to those people guys in front of me. One more lap to look at pass Sylvain, I knew he would try back since he was very consistently strong, but he passed me really difficult turn anf the went wide. In the final analysis I have been struggling going back corner, consequently it was scary to the straight, but fortunately I did so my second win of year and I need to give thanks my team,Gucci Sito Ufficiale,Borse Gucci, to BMW and my sponsors.”At a sluggish start race one Sykes led the rest in the first turn with Melandri and Laverty falling in line behind. On lap two Laverty probed the Melandri’s BMW in most places,Gucci Borse, taking second temporarily within the front straight, being repassed by Sykes into turn one. Laverty finally found his way around Melandri on lap four along with off for Sykes. Like he'd with Melandri,Borse Gucci Outlet, Laverty made several tests of Sykes,Borse Gucci Outlet, showing him one of the wheels every now and then,Gucci Sito Ufficiale,Borse Gucci Outlet, before you make a draft go on top straight because of the Kawasaki and created it comply with lead charge.Davide Giugliano crashed away from sixth put on lap six. Leon Haslam, making his second work to come using a broken leg, ran in your top 10 early, but pulled out on the race after nine laps.Straightforward the most notable five riders Laverty,Gucci Sito Ufficiale, Sykes,Gucci Outlet,Gucci Outlet, Melandri Guintoli and Rea ran together. There was no luck for your Irish in race one as Rea and Laverty both experienced mechanical DNFs. First on lap nine it was subsequently Rea dropping out of charge group with a issue on his Honda. Three laps later Laverty’s Aprilia possessed a puff of smoke; he looked down and realized the track,Gucci Borse, parking the bike in a guardrail. That left Melandri, Sykes and Guintoli batting to your lead, and battle it was actually. On lap 17 Sykes drafted past Melandri into one, but took a large entry into your turn forcing Melandri wide and amazing track. At the start the Italian dropped off charge pace of Sykes and Guintoli, but he rode with anger and rapidly caught support. There has been no niceties on lap 19 when Guintoli got a superb drive straight from the last turn and drafted by Sykes, then Melandri stuck it on the medial side Sykes in any tight number of corners with no regard to bring second. From the closing laps it's a fantastic dice between Guintoli and Melandri with Sykes seemingly conceding, possibly with tire issues. “We struggled a small amount all race for traction,” explained Sykes, who scored his eighth consecutive podium. “It was really a great race. Quite slow speed, but plenty of overtaking. I enjoyed the race, nonetheless felt we'd some limitations. I believe you can easliy put these in race two hopefully.”On the very last lap Melandri blocked passed Guintoli into turn one. Guintoli got his Aprilia briefly into the lead, but ran wide consecutively five and that also appeared to be the race. But coming back again from what looked like there was too wide of one's gap, Guintoli had the best drive out on last turn and zipped right to the rear wheel of Melandri and got out inside the finish line, but emerged just short.“At the first I could just to save the tire a bit more,” Guintoli said. “In the it turned out an incredibly great grapple with Tom and Marco. I got a lttle bit disappointed for losing the win so it am close. I am like around this race I showed a different spirit than I was able to from the other races. I fought towards the end, I made some mistakes as i made an effort to pass, even so delivered strong moscow and rome corner. I’m happy overall, merely takes a simple shame in the victory. That it was very entertaining and we’ve just got to stay.”The gap of 0.007 was the fourth closest finish in World Superbike history.Sykes was four seconds back from the leaders.
